Alberto has been kind enough to come up with a training plan for me.
I sense I'm going to be a difficult customer. Not a regular road rider, not training for a specific event (not in the short term anyway), no real defined riding pattern, but having what is politely termed as a 'big hairy audacious goal'.
The goal?
Italia2010, 800km of riding in the space of 7 days, with God knows how much climbing. Yeeeeouch.
So - anyway, back the the progam. This week the Doctor prescribes:
Monday - rest (swim or stretch)
Tues - Easy commute, 1.5 to 2 hours
Wed - rest
Thurs - easy commute, 1.5 to 2 hours
Fri - rest
Sat - easy commute, 1.5 to 2 hours
Sun - rest
Probably going to look more like
Mon - rest or commute (undecided at this point)
Tue - rest
Wed - commute / short dirt crit or bunch ride
Thur - rest
Fri - commute
Sat - commute
Sun - rest (Tour of Bright, does spectating and screaming at the top of my lungs count as rest?)
Going to be tough having an 'easy' week - not in my normal week, and being sooo close to topping last years kilometres, the temptation is to just get out and pound out a solid week.
Must. Fight. Temptation.
Still need to schedule in benchmark TT as well (need to decide on route as well) - stay tuned?
