Good day out. Great course, challenging, happy with the lap times, won the challenge against Team "Skin & Bone" - more on that another time.
Not a good day for AWMTB. 2 of our members ended up in hospital after seperate crashes on the same section of course.
A picture is worth a 1000 words, and a video is worth a 1000 pictures.
Geoff is sore, bruised, battered but OK.
Very lucky escape.

Ouch. Glad to hear that he was ok. It looked damn serious. Crazy how the bike just snapped. Equipment is so important, hey?
I'm a little bit at a loss as to how the bike broke - as the other bloke that stacked did it exactly the same way, with no damage to bike.
I'm surprised the frame broke before the wheel buckled, all I can think is that the point of impact when he hit the lip was above the axle.
Whyever it happened, it happened. Geoff is a sponsored rider and frame replacement shouldn't be an issue. But I'll be interested to see if he continues riding for that team, or tries something else.
